Morko by solkar

[raw]
made by solkar for LD33 (JAM)
Morko is a gentile monster (maybe you cannot see but it's wearing a bow tie) that loves eating children alive. But Morko must save some good for the winter, pushing some pesky children into the pit.

Use your fright bombs to corner children into the pit.

[Cotrols]

- W, A , S , D: control movement
- SPACE: drop bomb

[Notes]

This is a really rough prototype. Half of the original ideas are not included but you probably know how this works.
Level2 is broken until I can fix one bug.
Monster gets easily stuck into walls.

I took the music from a Unity's demo project.

Really great concept, shame you didn't get it totally finished. I like the hand drawn art style you started with too, the monster looks really cool!

The concept is great and so was that small amount of art you had!

Your sprites were well drawn, but everything else was kind of bland by comparison. It was hard to play because of the collision detection, and how hard it is to fit into the corridors.

seems like it could be expanded into something interesting, but only having one level to go off isnt much. -Otis

Apart from the rough edges you've mentioned before such as the collision, I like the Bomberman-inspired mechanics. If you do manage to fix those bugs in the future, you should definitely expand on the idea.

I really like the concept and the art, just a shame the second level was so broken! Also, the monster getting stuck was quite annoying. Shame it was broken, I would have played more!

Too bad that this isn't more polished because I can see the potential. The controls and wall collisions made it nearly impossible to move.

Interesting concept, the sprite art is really good, shame there's not a lot to it yet.

You had something going in the right direction but getting stuck in walls is what you should fix before creating the rest of the game!
