Loot Mine by gamescodedogs
As you explore the dungeon to collect loot, remember that you can only carry three items, so choose wisely.
- The dungeon has many levels, with increasing danger as you go deeper.
- Some levels have bosses or healing potions. Check the mini-map in the top right corner for guidance.
- Shields, swords, and mining tools offer different powers and special features like bombs and freezing effects.

The mechanics are simple yet fun, and graphics are very nice.
I went all in on frost, so the last boss never hit me, finished the game with 50/50 hp.
Good job!
@thatsommes Thanks a lot, what a surprise that you finished with 50/50! I should roll an update with the balance fix :) "Going Down" looks great by the way, awesome work!
@iluvatar Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated. Absolutely in love with your pixel art in the "The Void" and projects from the previous Ludum Dare events. This is what I should definitely check out. Keep doing the amazing work.
This was so fun! This is the first game I jumped into to review for LD57. This is a really entertaining gameplay loop. I love the rougelite elements, mining aspect, combat.
I think I played all the way though without understanding how the shield system works.
My only wish would be to have more content/items, but I understand this is a game jam and can't knock you for that!
Great job anyway
I beated the final boss after some time, was a bit disappointed there was no "you won" message, but fun game.
Thanks for this game!
One of the games I enjoyed the most so far.

The progression was just perfect, and the mechanics were simple to understand yet had complexity to it. I love that you also added elements to the weapons, and also to the pickaxe, so there was strategy to destroy some rocks first before fighting some enemies. Such great risk reward balance!
I think my criticism is just that every other element besides frost needed some buffs, because frost was easily the best element while the others were pretty useless. Also I want to point out that there was no use for gold, but I assume you didn't have time to implement a store to spend the gold on haha.
That was a great entry! Thank you for the game.
