Blurbl by xlambein

[raw]
made by xlambein for Ludum Dare 57 (JAM)

In this little unfinished game, you control the depth of focus of the camera. The little red square can only collide with platforms currently in focus. Your goal is to help it get to the other side of the screen :]

To adjust focus, click and drag horizontally with your mouse. Known bug: sometimes the focus doesn't restore collision to the leftmost platform. Just focus out and back in, it'll work again.

There's only one level and no end screen! We didn't have time to make more than this, unfortunately.

Nice idea, would be cool to see it explored further. I had troubles with the controls, it was hard to get to the middle platform (maybe my mouse is too sensitive).

really cool idea. I personally did not find the controls hard, but really wanted more to do with the gameplay.

Cool idea of depth of field. A little buggy tho.

The art looks really nice. Bit tricky to get the scroll to the right spot but I got across the cube in the end.

When I scrolled the the level as the block entered it somehow got embed in the platform and slid across. Because I couldn't side scroll I had to copy out the iframe link to a new tab: https://files.jam.host/embed/$412505/39075/index.html

The idea is really innovative and the theme is implemented in a super interesting way! It's a pity that there is no continuation

Definitely an original idea.

I'd like to see it finished.

It’s a pity it’s such a small prototype, but the core idea — and how it ties into the theme — is really interesting! Was kinda hard to manipulate in mouse :(

Really cool idea. I would really love to see a full game out of this in the future.
