HexaDig by FancyReckless

[raw]
made by FancyReckless for Ludum Dare 57 (JAM)

Use mouse, ASD or arrow keys to dig down. Collect items to dig harder and finish missions (hover over a number top left from you) to win. Items do their effects in order, so for best synergy you can click on inventory items to swap them.

Art by kenney.nl, slightly modified by me. As per jam rules, made some bug fixes after the jam and stating them there: - UI now properly displayed on wider monitors (purely visual) - negative stat text bug fixed (purely visual) - Inventory is saved between rounds

Wow nice game, I really love it, it reminds me of that game "He is coming". I love all the stats are gear that you can choose.

Very interesting game, I stayed on it longer than I thought. Interesting mechanics with a combination of digging and fantasy, although I still haven't figured out how to combine items. In any case, great job!

This game is honestly so much fun to play, it’s got a clean, clever design that really hooks you in. I love how the upgrade options and speed settings mix things up and keep it fresh. That said, the UI panel on the left feels a tad too big and ends up hogging a bit more space than it should.

A really enjoyable experience. I liked the mechanics, quests, graphics and sounds. The only thing missing was music.

A great and simple idea—I believe this game could be developed into a longer mobile game, and I’d definitely spend many long winter evenings playing it. I honestly have nothing to criticize. 5/5.

This might be one of my favourite concepts and well execueted for a jam game.
I wish I have more item slots though.

I loved the game! I liked how you managed the constrains, say movement and the inventory limit, my only complain is it get hard real fast. It's a solid game in gameplay and mechanics, excellent work!

Very well executed and the gameplay loop is actually addicting. Of course it could do with more items and stuff but it's a jam game so I can't complain.

Great game! Definitely reminded me of He is Coming, but I like the need to continually move in a single direction. The missions were a nice touch as well.

One of my favorites as of now. Loved the concept and the gameplay, the upgrades are well designed, the look and feel is consistent, and the graphic palette is earthy, and fits the theme. Very well executed, the suggestion to work further on it is on the spot, I would probably play a lot. The only thing that would be great to add is some fitting background music. Congrats on the entry!

This was a fun game! The basics are clear and I like that you can't go up too. You also added a lot of different items, and the tiles got pretty challenging later on. Good jam overall! The random sometimes got me in tricky spots, but that’s part of the fun.

This is a really great game. The concept is solid, no tutorial whatsoever but it send the massage clear and loud, that's something. Also love the art. One thing that i'd suggest though, is adding some kind of background music, it doesn't have to be bold, but just enough to break the silence

Nice idea! It took me a little time to truly understand how it all worked and what I needed to do, but this is a very interesting concept. I do find a little long to dig before actually starting to see the bricks we have to destroy, and wished there was some music, but otherwise it's pretty solid, congrats!

Really cool! I was about to stop playing until I noticed the mission system being explained and I decided to follow it, which was definitely a good idea as it had some more content which was interesting too. Only thing I'd say for adding, as other people have said, is having some background music

My digging from the stream :)

Great job on the roguelike experience!

Do consider maybe adding some darkness behind the character to make it more clear from UX perspective to the player where they can go, but otherwise a very solid entry and a perfect fit for jam's theme.

I thought it was pretty cool, even though I played so badly! I guess I'm not very good at choosing power ups.

Is there an ending?

Congrats!

Fun game! It took me a while to figure out what the mission was, I was just digging away. :) I would have like some hover over information on the icons. I finished the first mission. I wish there was a safe point after that, so I can try mission 2 without doing mission 1 again. Nice graphics!
