Silly little kangaroo game!

At most two minutes of playtime, just give it a go!

Dev thoughts (thelastslowpoke):

I loved working non-solo, it was exciting to try and I'm happy it worked out! After commiting to the game idea, we realized that sub-par programmer art ain't gonna cut it this time. So I called a friend that would be a perfect match for this. Adaś was excited to quickly put something together for us!

And yeah, this is my fourth dared ludum in a row in which the audio department is overlooked. There is definitely a need to prioritize it more, maybe we should do a musical next time to balance it out? ^^

the most fun part is to watch that arm come back!

I couldn't stop laughing from the very beginning. I'm glad the previous trail doesn't block the way, 'cause I got **lost** in there.

This is such a cute entry! I love the interpretation of the theme (diving into a kangaroo's joey pouch is very funny), as well as the backing art and (light, but very fitting) story! I thought the little animation of grabbing Joseph, as well as the arm-"rewind"-type effect after grabbing him were particularly nice touches! A small but very fun entry. Congrats!

Haha, nice twist on the theme! Very silly, and sweet and short.

bvfbvfbvbv awww!! what a hilarious and adorable lil game!! just the way I like it x3 I love how effortlessly silly it is from beginning to end, made me wanna play again just to [try to break the physics](https://fupi.cat/media/external/loopdeloop.mp4) -- I couldn't but still had a laugh!

What a surprise :D - like the others I had to laugh. It was difficult for me to control the hand but somehow managed to grab him. The animation of grabbing him all the way back was fun.

really made me laugh, haha. I loved the little animation when you grab him at the end, and watching the hand twist alllll the way back to the start was so fun! (especially since mine was sooooo tangled up)

It's so cute, I like it! I liked the ending especially. Graphics / animation are great and very well done. You get a lot of mileage out of just a few assets. I think some sound effects / music would really help complement the silly atmosphere. I think the controls kind of felt backwards to me? Maybe that's just me, but I feel like maybe left and right should have been swapped. But I got used to it pretty quickly. Overall, great job!

Kangaroo mommies have a tough life, gotta say. Very amusing entry that's super easy to pick up and play, well done! I lucked out and the way down was quite a smooth ride. It took me a little bit to find the little one at the complete bottom, because I took few wrong turns down there, but definitely not for too long or anything. My trophy:

At the beginning, I was a little bit worried whether I could go through the hand that's already in place, but thankfully wasn't a problem. Bringing them back was very amusing to watch, and in general, this was amusing all the way. Perfect jam entry - easy to pick up, not too long, very funny, love it!

I understand the struggle with music and sounds, maybe musical is really a way to go! :laughing:

I love it when the gameplay itself is the thing that makes me laugh, and watching Joseph get reeled back in was hilarious!

Got him!

Very fun game, but lacks music. I wanted to give (reluctantly) one star for the music already, but the music vote was disabled.

Such a bad deed I compensated with five stars for the other categories. Great job!

@cassowary

Thanks for your praise and feedback!!!

We had a debate about controls, and we decided that we prefer the backwards-when-going-down controls, because they feel very natural when going sideways and upwards. The other way around would feel nice in long vertical corridors, but would be completely confusing in the other directions and overall would subjectively feel worse. We conjectured that most gamer brains would quickly snap into understanding of the first option, around the first few curves. We didn't find any options with smaller drawbacks, and accepted that it will feel weird at the beginning for most, and maybe for the whole game for some.

Wow!! This is a solid entry for having two first time jammers. I'm already looking forward to the future jam entries. This was really fun, btw!

@dudum-lare

Thanks!!!

It was actually my fourth jam, the "first time" is about me working in a team (the previous ones were solo). Wallted was jamming for the first time though. I guess the description can be a bit unclear. See you in half a year hahah!

An adorable submission! The character designs definitely carried it, though the gameplay's also enjoyable in its own right. My favourite part ( other than the little joey's expression after being grabbed ) was how the arm retracted during the finale, allowing you to see how deep you've really gone.

This is the perfect sort of game to introduce a level structure to, if you ever consider taking it further. I think it's something worth exploring! Perhaps adding some obstacles in the form of sharp, misplaced trinkets lost in mamma's pouch could help introduce some stakes?

Ideas aside, congrats to the team! I hope you had a lot of fun working on your first joint entry, and I'm keen to see what the next jam's got in store for the lot of you, granted you plan on giving making things together another go. Cheers!

@clink cheers!

sharp-misplaced-trinkets-lost-in-mammas-pouch was exactly the vibe we were going with at the start, but scoping the project did it's thing :) despite, this project still bestowed a lot of laughs and fun upon us. glad you too in some way experienced this through the game!

I LOVED it, I hit a lot of wall in the first 20 seconds because I couldn't stop laughing at the concept!
EASY 5/5 Fun, Theme and Humor!!! :heart:

You could easily extend it a little, add more stakes, like obstacles/life system/objectives/etc, I would love to try a post-jam version!
But I also really love that the game is just a short 2 minutes straigthforward story!

Congrats on a funny, original, and good looking game! It's a bit lacking in gameplay, in that sense it's appropriately short.
