When you're in a pinch, your children will not hesitate for even a nanosecond to sacrifice their life for the hill! Can you reach the depths of the Earth, or will the ever-encroaching tongue be your demise?

Great job! I really like the idea. The pixel art was super cute and fit the style really well. The tongue on the anteater got stuck during my first playthrough, but overall it was a lot of fun!

Love the idea and great graphics. The tongue got stuck as well, but I am kinda glad it did so that I can just do whatever I want.
After producing a few more ants the game became pretty slow for me. I was playing the browser version.

I have some problems to understand how it works at the start, but when the controls was understand, I really like the mecanic !
I don't know if it has an end tho, the game was really slowly at a moment.

Cool game! I really like the concept. The music is very cute and suits the vibe of the game really well. Yeah as others said the toungue kinda got stuck so I was just free to do anything I want. Otherwise, good job! (Oh and just rememebered for some reason I can never spawn new ants even though I have enough food)

The tongue got stuck :( It was really fun though great job. All though I do suggest adding more resources if you plan on adding more post LD.

I had fun playing this but at one point the anteater's tongue broke and the broken piece kept chasing me... Maybe a couple bugs in the tongue behavior haha

Took me a while to get the controls, but once understood the game was super fun, eating dirt is oddly satisfying. Loved the humor

The control is not very clear initially, not very convenient, but in general okay
I kind of had an anteater bug, and I was fine playing.

And so cool I like it thanks!

As others have mentioned, I had a hard time figuring out the controls. Other then that the game is nice and I like the artwork.

Cool concept! I don't know why, but the button to make a new ant didn't work, even if I had enough food.

Very cool game. My only complaints are that it was very easy to ward off the ant eater with a single blockade and then it felt like there was no real objective other than going deeper and making more ants.

Solid entry overall.

I like the vibes of this game a lot - the random names and little dialogue messages add a lot of character to the ants, and the music and pixel art is super fun. I also like the game concept quite a lot. It seems like there's some great strategy involved in balancing expanding your colony and blocking the anteater, and also some opportunity for expansion post-jam (more depth to building a colony, more resources to find, stuff like that).

Unfortunately the game just didn't work very well for me. Certain mechanics, like how blockades and rooms worked, or when I could and couldn't spawn ants, weren't clearly explained, so I was pretty confused about how to play. Things also kept getting stuck - the tongue frequently kind of broke apart into bits or stalled in the middle of a tunnel, which often completely removed any danger from the game. Also, at a certain point in each of my attempts, all the ants would stop and become mostly unclickable. If I rarely did manage to select one, none of the options did anything. So no matter what I did, I could never play the game as intended for long.

It's a shame because I really like the design! If you manage to get some of those aspects of the game fixed up, I'd love to play a post-jam version and give it a proper go.

Enjoy the style and look of the game but like many others the tongue broke, kind of fixed itself, and then broke again. I do think there is a good game concept in here but without the tongue I was just digging up a world to build more ants.

Could feel the personality with the ants dialogue too.

Nice creative use of the theme. Good tongue animation!

Nice prototype ! I would definetly love to see it more polished in the future. It lagged a lot in the browser and the tongue got stuck. Also there is a bug when you want to build 2 rooms at the same time with different ants, the first one gets teleported and help the other
Anyway it was fun and the art was really cool, nice work for a game jam !
