Fish Photography by Turquoise Moon

[raw]
made by Turquoise Moon for Ludum Dare 57 (JAM)

Explore the depths of an underwater cave and photograph all the plants and fish!

Use arrow keys or wasd to move.

Press c or spacebar to start taking a photo.

Press tab or shift to open your notebook

The camera will only work if a fish is in range. Keep the fish in range until the progress bar finishes to add it to your notebook.

I unfortunate didn't have time to add sound effects or music. I might have forgotten that was a thing until it was too late... whoops!

Very polished. Not much content, but what's there feels very complete. Very visually appealing. Great work!

A nice little callback to the flash game era! My one and only complaint is that this man needs to upgrade his camera equipment... talk about a slow photo warmup :(

(fastfish was a monster to catch, but satisfying when I finally cornered him)

I really enjoyed this game :) I like how it was able to create a bit of a challenge (the fastfish) without a lot of conflict. It was very relaxing hanging out with the fishies, would love to see more! Great entry, thanks for making it :)

Simple and fun! The game length felt just right for the mechanics — better to keep it short and sweet than stretch a single idea too far. The “walk backward instead of turning” mechanic might’ve been intentional, but it felt a little awkward to me in this context.

I enjoyed this; it reminded me of a Subnautica! I agree with others that the move mechanics felt a bit awkward, but I enjoyed the capture mechanic!

This was a nice little game :) It was very relaxing to play! It had a nice atmosphere despite the lack of sounds/music which was good. Only wanted more of it! Nice work!

Beyond the sound I really do wish there was a win state... I also couldn't figure out how to make my diver turn around, seemed like I had to move a lot in a direction in order for them to decide to face the other way, which was a little frustrating :(

I really like the visuals, they remind me of Flash and the little games I'd play when that was still a thing, and I loved the little smiley when I completed the notebook :) This is a really cute entry!!

Cute small game, the fast fish was surprising and challenging to catch! Wish there were more fish (and the sound  )
