There are still ten hours left, but I don’t want to stay up all night, so this is my save point.
This is my entry for the Ludum solo competition. Since the rules don’t allow the use of assets made by other people, the visuals and overall polish are… definitely a work in progress 🥺
The theme was “Old Tech,” but the game probably isn’t old enough, and I’m definitely not tech-savvy enough, so please go easy on me.
Inspired by early electronic D&D, text-driven games, and the typing tutor from computer class, this is a small side-scrolling RPG built around a typing system. Everything from interacting with NPCs and making choices to moving through the world is done by typing.
The original plan included multiple NPCs, light idle mechanics, random events, and branching choices. Unsurprisingly, the scope grew far beyond what I could finish in a jam.
This is a solo 48-hour Game Jam project. It isn’t finished… you could even say it hasn’t really started. When you hit a dead end and can’t progress, don’t wonder — I didn’t have time to finish it, and I’m exhausted.
