Great entry for your first time! I love crushing building and villagers as a giant snail. Very cartoony style, i love the villager dying sounds.

Pretty simple, but good for a quick play. I like the graphics, and can honestly say I've never played as a giant snail in a game before. Good work!

Having better effects when hitting a building would make this game way fun

my only gripe is that i can't really see in front of me and it makes it hard to see if you are gonna eat a villager or not. still fun. played thru twice ^^

First, this game took me a LONG time to download to play on Kongregate. Might just be my connection, but if you can trim any file size, that would help a lot.

Considering it was made in 48 hours, this is solid, but there are some things to work on. You asked for feedback, so here goes:

The view makes it hard to see what I'm hitting, especially villagers. Zooming out to be over the "shoulder" of the snail instead of on top of it would help me see what I'm hitting when I attack.

Speaking of, it was hard to tell when I hit a building/lamp post, since there was no indication from the object in question if it had taken damage unless it was destroyed. A little shake or flash when I hit to show damage would be helpful!

All in all, this is a solid Ludum game! After all, who wouldn't want to be a giant snail crushing a small town?

The snake controls feel way too mechenical, adding some speed-up/slowdown when you change direction and the model actually responding to input will go a long way.

It is unfortunate that the model blocks your view of what is in front of you so sometimes you just bash your head without knowing if you are going to hit something.

The lightning is very harsh. Perhaps you could have used more ambient light and darker textures.

It would have been nice to have some animation when you destroy things.

Well done for keeping things simple. I really enjoyed the game. Some particle effects and explosions would be cool :P

The snail is very slow, which I suppose is authentic for a giant snail. :P

I like the moonlit village mood! The graphics worked pretty well with it.

Well first thing: I Love the title :D
It feels good to be that big snail and eat people!
There isn't much to say that others haven't already, the camera is indeed not ideal, and I didn't even understand how to destroy houses, leaving me each time with a big "0" on the scores (tried to eat them, but apparently it's not possible). On my last try I destroyed a lampost without realizing it (made 2685pts, is that good? :p).
The "eating" sfx is quite satisfying, but the people screaming goes from fun to a bit annoying after some minutes ^^'
Also, the end of the game is a bit abrupt, maybe a sound for the final countdown would have attenuated the shock of the score panel interrupting the game!

Wow! This is certainly my favorite Unity submission thus far. Lot of issues, that many others have already addressed, but I got to be a giant snail!

Welcome to Ludum Dare! Good first effort too :)

Difficult, but I like a good challenge. The snail looks really cool and I like what you did with the moon!
