Bitworm by TheMonsterFromTheDeep
This is my third Ludum Dare entry! However, due to a major setback, I basically didn't start working on anything other than the character until Sunday afternoon.
Controls:
WASD - Move
Space - Shoot
The game actually has mediocre instructions, unlike my previous two entries.
You play as a computer worm who actually has no purpose (see: major setback) but it is kind of fun to go shooting "bits" at locks and crates, which exist inside of this operating system.
Bits also happen to have four different states.
(Clearly this game isn't very realistic.)
Anyways, there is a major glitch I didn't have time to fix - I think when you shoot a bit and then keep moving forward you sometimes go through the wall and then crash the game by trying to access tiles that don't exist. Sorry about that.
Just make sure that if your worm stops responding you close the game immediately. ;)
Another problem is for some reason a lot of the stuff is pink / reddish when it should be gray - I have absolutely no clue what caused this. It works correctly on my computer. :/
Also, if for some reason you want to compile the source code, you'll have to include my java library "spaghetti" (named, of course, for my terrible code organization): https://github.com/TheMonsterFromTheDeep/spaghetti
