Nuclear Arms 4: Fallout of the Mountain King

Another Ludum Dare weekend done, only this time with less people, and a bit less time. We've continued the tradition of using Craig Killbane as our main character, and sending him to fight another wacky enemy (Very loosely based off of our deep Killbane canon).

With a bit less people than before we decided to use some 2D pathfinder code I've been working on. The code itself I thought was pretty solid, but quickly learned that it worked well only with the configured character size and speed I was using. So when we added in the Bear enemies it did not quite work so well as they were larger and moved faster than what the pathfinder was previously tested on. Fortunately, It did not end up breaking the game, it just shows a little bit some times when the enemies sometimes spin or get stuck in holes. It's something that I plan to work on and fix sometime later, since I thought the code was pretty solid before we ended up actually using it for something.
I usually end up taking off the Monday to finish up our Ludum Dare games, but this one crept up on me so I was too late to request some time off. So the game was mostly finished during the first 48 hours, with only some minor touch-ups before we submitted on Monday
We had a lot of fun this time around, coming up with ideas and stupid plot points to go off of. We hope you all enjoy the ridiculous slides we made to tell our story as well as the shoot-em up game we ended up making. If you liked the game, I would recommend taking a look at some of our past submissions (linked in our submission above) so that you can more thoroughly enjoy the plot ;)
Be on the lookout for Craig Killbane's next game Nuclear Arms 5 Title to be determined coming some time next Ludum Dare (or the one after that).
