Hello, I'm DarkSamus9000.

This December I will be participating in Ludum Dare 40, my first programming competition ever. I'm currently a self-taught game programmer, working primarily in Java and C# while I practice learning lower level languages like C and C++. I plan to study computer sciences intensely when I go to university and aspire to become a tactful and diligent software developer and game programmer.

Even with the tight restraints on mine and my friend's schedule, I plan to enter the Ludum Dare jam with my friend @URNext7634. We will be writing the game in Java using a custom-built engine written on top of Slick2D. Although I've been teaching myself how to program through games for a while now, this will be my first attempt at writing a fun, polished game. I don't expect to do well, but I hope to learn a lot about game development in the process - this is the primary reason for choosing to participate.
