{"author_name":"Beakytronic","cat":"LD #34","comments":[],"epoch":1450036860,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"10510","p_author":"Beakytronic","p_authorkey":"501923","p_urlkey":"45741","p_title":"End of day 2","p_cat":"LD #34","p_event":"LD34","p_time":"1450036860","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"501923","us_name":"beakytronic","us_username":"beakytronic","event_start":"1449792000","event_key":"31","event_name":"LD34"},"text":"<p>Yesterday I wound up sleeping for about ten hours, which was a bit more than I expected.\u00a0 Once I woke up, there was a lot of subsequent rain which made me lethargic for a while, and then I was hammering out concepts on paper and trying to make concept sketches of UI at a local coffeeshop (hampered by forgetting to bring my eraser\u2014I was using physical pencils for it).\u00a0 Iced mocha for the win.<\/p>\n <p>Today, I switched to Haxe all the way!\u00a0 Suddenly.\u00a0 While also having an overambitious, multiplayer game idea.\u00a0 This\u2026 might be kind of foolish.\u00a0 But it seems to be working acceptably from a technical standpoint, and I wasn&#8217;t keen on the idea of writing large chunks (larger, I realized, than I previously thought they&#8217;d be) of my code twice, and I also wasn&#8217;t keen on trying to use node.js without puking.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got a basic WebSocket setup going, and now I&#8217;ve been grinding out data models for the gameplay itself; I&#8217;m pretty sure I can make my core mechanic work at least enough to be playable by the jam deadline if I just keep plugging away at it.\u00a0 The more experimental stuff\u2026 I don&#8217;t know yet.\u00a0 Also I&#8217;m not sure how well the Haxe server side will handle many players.<\/p>\n <p>Unrelatedly, I&#8217;ve now tried Pizza Hut&#8217;s red pepper crust flavor.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not bad.<\/p>\n <p>Sleep time once again.<\/p>","time":"December 13th, 2015 3:01 pm","title":"End of day 2"}
