The Growth theme seem to fit it perfectly, however I’m not following strict Cellular Automata rules, just the essence. I not sure the Two Button Control theme will make it in, I’m going to try but will see once the more game play part of it rather than the simulations and growth rules are being worked on.

Some lessons I never learn, should have sorted out my dev environment better before starting. Things like keyboard, and screens suddenly getting annoying waste a fair bit of time. Not yet used to twitching, to do it well I think you need to have setup your work environment for OBS. I had it on a laptop and so sometimes forgetting that when you flick over to check email, chat on slat etc. that is also shown. What I’d really like is to have it focus on a few chosen windows and show whichever one is currently active.

A migraine style headache has stolen a few hours, as needed to huddle in the dark for a bit and don’t think it will be a wise idea to push the midnight oil, but thats fine. One of the things thats always important to remember about Ludum Dare, is that it isn’t about working 48/72 hours non-stop filled on pizza and red bull, its to try something playable and hopefully fun and interesting. If you are up to it, doing the ‘extreme’ Ludum Dare can be fun, its an experience doing that kind of crunch, however its not required. I’ve done enough crunch for games to last me a lifetime and whilst enjoyable, my general health and life are beyond that.

So i’ll stick to a more sedate, less extreme version of Ludum Dare 😀

I’ll be back tomorrow with some more slack and hopefully more progress.

December 12th, 2015 3:43 pm
Framework in place"}
