This is my highest score so far (on easy mode) :). I would be really curious about yours. I know the weapons and signatures seem unnecessary in the beginning. But if you don't use them to actively hunt down asteroids, but as life savers when you can't dodge anymore, they get pretty useful in the later game.

Another tip: Don't use every space station on the way. This costs a lot of scrap.
