This isn't a nebulous philosophical post like "How does one rate humor? Does not humor, itself being a subjective criteria, defy our attempts to quantify it? Can one 'win' at humor?" I'm not looking to define how to rate it or change anyone's mind. I'm just really curious. How did you choose a rating for humor? If an entry isn't trying to be funny but doesn't opt out of the humor category did you give it a 3 or a 0? Maybe just leave it blank? Some games are obviously trying to be funny, but fall flat. Did you rate any games that tried to be funny and fell flat higher than ones that didn't even try to be funny?

I'm trying to be more consistent with how I rate things, so I've been thinking about this. Here's some of the games that I rated for humor that jumped out at me.

BEASTS

I scored this one quite high for humor. The theme mashup is absurd and the fact that the winner of the battle becomes the mayor at the end made me laugh.

Love Machine

This isn't even a game. At least, not a finshed game. You can fly around and enjoy the dialog, which I find hilarious. I mean, I found the dialog hilarious. Not the flying around. That is fun, but not funny.

Legend of Zoom

I don't even know that there were any jokes in this one. Maybe the old man makes a joke or two? But the entire concept makes me laugh. Driving around, sideswiping enemies with my sword sticking off the car was a joy. I rated it high on humor, although now that I'm looking back maybe I really wanted to rate it high on mood? It came in 80th for humor, so apparently others felt the same way.

Flower Hero

I rated this one high for humor, but again, it isn't really 'funny', per se. More just the character design and the happy large flower in the background make me laugh.
