Unreal Ease
It appears that I chose the right concept to synergize with Unreal Engine this time around. Many times, I've fought against the game engine I choose, trying to make it implement the mechanics I'm aiming at.
Turns out that making an FPS in an FPS engine doesn't suffer from those problems nearly as much. Most of my troubles have resulted from simple unfamiliarity with Unreal (since I haven't really touched it for over a year.
That said, I think I've established most of my core gameplay, so now all that's left is level design and polish. I'll reserve that for tomorrow.
