There used to be a lot more of people talking about other people's games that they were excited about and I want to bring that back! I don't want to be preachy or be on a soap box, but I think that it leads to a better and healthier community. So I figured I would start!\n\nSome of my favorites so far:\n# Crystalmancer by Crowno (@crowno) \n\nhttps:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/42\/crystalmancer\n\n![Crystalmancer1.png](\/\/\/raw\/b17\/z\/19e2a.png)\n\nCrystalmancer has a simple concept but is a ton of fun. Attacking enemies with your wand leaves crystals behind that you can't cross unless you take out your hammer to hit them, which is tough to do in the thick of battle. It has some great Gameboy graphics and sound, and the ability to swap the palette with a button press. Solid all around entry!\n\n# Detox by FiloGC (@filogc)\nhttps:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/42\/detox\n\n![detox.gif](\/\/\/raw\/b17\/z\/19e2f.gif)\n\nDetox is a simple game with a simple concept. Just stop the skull and crossbones thingies from falling into the thingie on the bottom of the screen while letting through the other thingies. Check out the high score board. Either people are really talented and the multipliers really add up quick, people found a way to hack the leaderboard, or people have WAAY to much time on their hands \n\n# Plenty of Junk by Verbante (@verbante)\nhttps:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/42\/plenty-of-junk\n\n![POJ.png](\/\/\/raw\/b17\/z\/19e2e.png)\n\nI'm a big fan of crazy physics games and this one is certainly that. Move through the junkyard collecting food to survive (spolier alert, you won't). Then, when you get tired of that, try to abuse the physics engine to launch yourself completely out of the arena. I've never done it, but I've gotten darn close!\n\n# Encumbered by DanGraf (@dangraf) , and impbox (@impbox)\nhttps:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/42\/encumbered-deckbuilding-inventory-action\n\n![encumbered.png](\/\/\/raw\/b17\/z\/19e2b.png)\n\nI love deckbuilding games and this one is super unique. The cards you have are actually sitting in the playing field you are running around in. I'm not exactly sure how, but somehow I broken my own cards and they became useless. Awesome graphics and presentation and music so beautiful it became too distracting so the developer muted it (just kidding. There is no sound). This one plays at a fixed size, so if you can't see some of the board you have to increase your resolution or change the scale and layout options (in Windows 10) to see everything. Solid and a lot of fun.\n\n## Did you know you can see a list of the games you've already rated? \nJust click on the Ludum Dare 42 link on the top of the site and then click the Me button. It is a great way to be able to go back and replay or promote the games you really enjoyed!
