I didn't even know it was happening until Wednesday. I was looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend break from my new, difficult job. But the theme was \"Sacrifices Must Be Made\" and that's the best theme I've seen in ages. On Thursday, I had been talking with someone about one of my favorite sci-fi short stories, [\"The Cold Equations\" by Tom Godwin](http:\/\/www.lightspeedmagazine.com\/fiction\/the-cold-equations\/). It's a story with huge emotive power surrounding a terrible situation. And it fit the theme so well. I spent only an hour trying very hard not to join the Dare this time, to give myself a break, to rest. Coincidence conspired to have me create a digital adaptation of the short story, and here it is. I did my best to tap into the powerful emotive presence of the short story, but I think I barely scratched the surface.
