In many game jams, it can be difficult to find time to build and test your project. Continous Intergration can go through that process for you so when you are ready for release, you can just download your builds directly from Unity without having to wait around.
Continous intergration combined with some sort of version control and can make collaborative development and testing a whole lot simplier. With Unity's Cloud Build product, you can create a basic pipeline for your application in no time.
While you can get CI to work with other game engines, Unity Cloud Build, and this blog is focused on Unity. If you have questions on getting CI to work on another engine, shoot me a message on discord. :thumbsup:
Note: Unity Cloud Build requires Unity Teams Advances which requires either Unity Pro or a $9 subscription.
If you have 0 experince with GIT or version control, I suggest taking a look at GitHub for Unity.
Required Products- Unity
- Unity Cloud Build
- GitHub
- GIT of some sort
- A SSH Key generator
- PUTTY for Windows

Setting up GitHub and Creating a Deployment Key
- Commit and push your project to GitHub

PRIVATE REPO ONLY Move onto Configuring Cloud Build if you are using a public repository
Go
Settingstab thenDeploy keyson the sidebar.Generate an SSH key, this is how Unity will access your GitHub repository.
3w. WINDOWS Run the Puttygen program and click generate.

3l. LINUX Run ssh-keygen

- Click
add deploy keyon GitHub then open your public key in a text editor and paste its contents into GitHub, give it a title then clickAdd key.
Configuring Unity Cloud Build
Find your project, if you don't have a Unity Developer Cloud project, create one!
In your project, go to Cloud Build -> Config

Click
Setup Cloud BuildGo to the manual tab
Put in your GitHub's SSH address and select
GITfor SCM type.
Click
Next: Access ->and select the first platform you would like to build.PRIVATE REPO ONLY Put in the private key you generated and click next.
Make some configuration decisions, such as which branch to build.
Now click next and BAM, you got yourself some continous intergration.
Feel free to setup additional build for every platform, in our LD43 project, we have six builds, debug version for Windows (64 bit) and Linux running off our develop branch and a release version for Windows (32 and 64 bit), Linux, and Mac.
