I'm in! It's also my first game jam ever so....

Hello! My name is Enrique and I’m the lead designer and programmer at … my own company! Anyway, this is my first game jam ever and I hope I can make something nice out of it.

I wouldn't be comfortable saying what I'll be using when I'm still not even sure what the theme is, but that being said:

I've been playing around for years with Unity, Blender, Substance Designer & Painter and Photogrammetry (which probably won't make it to this game jam but who knows right? might be worth it depending on the theme). I love proceduralism, and I spend a lot of time working on code that will help me build procedural games in the future. Some of this might (probably will) make it into my game.

1 ) - I also have spent a substantial amount of money on assets (during sales, but it still ranks up pretty quickly!) that will help me on the purpose of building my games, so I might use some of these too, to simplify and speed up my work (besides sometimes offering functionality I am clearly not even familiar enough with to code myself). Some of these would be:

Third Person Motion Controller and Camera Controller (by Ootii), Final IK and PuppetMaster (by Pärtel Lang (RootMotion)), Voxeland and MapMagic (by Denis Pahunov), Amplify Shader Editor (by Amplify Creations), Odin Inspector & Serializer (by DevDog), Audio Helm (by Matt Tytell), VertExmotion (by Kalagaan)

2 ) - I am also an avid UMA user, which is a free asset that helps in optimization and proceduralism of characters in Unity. Feel free to check it out, it is one of the best plugins ever - if the project requires it, this will also be utilized.

3 ) - Ultimately, I am looking forward to possibly exploring a few plugins I got on the last Unity Sale and that I haven't yet gotten to explore:

Behaviour Designer (by Opsive), Cinema Suite (by Cinema Suite Inc.), A few more Amplify Creation post processing assets (which I will compare to the current Processing Stack by Unity to determine whether they are worth it), Dungeon Architect (by Code Respawn)

I know these are a LOT of assets, but my purpose behind all of these investment (which has been going on for years) is to eventually be able to create big scope games on my own, all behind the idea of proceduralism, from workflow to gameplay.

Other details about me:

I am a generalist, although mostly a 3D Artist, as that is what I studied in college (although I always programmed more than anything else as I found that way more interesting even visually speaking), and have been wanting to design games since I played Ocarina of time back when I was 7 (I am currently 27).

If you would like to keep in touch with the development of my little "failure" (because let's face it, it's my first game jam and I'm the kind who tends to have ambitions that are way out of scope LOL), you should definitely like this post and if possible offer some feedback. I'd LOVE to know which assets of these YOU would like to see, I think it's extremely important for the Indie community to know that we should NOT rely on our code alone.

Also do please keep an eye on the instagram of my “one” man company EnPhage Games :

My employer * WINK WINK ;)* has allowed me to take over the platform and finally bootstart it by documenting the process of this game jam! We do not have a twitter yet so please reach out to me through the gram, or through this post. I would really love more than anything for us to engage in a conversation about this topic we all love so much.

PD: You might just find the link the EnPhage’s website, don’t be too pressed to look into it as it is still under construction ;).
