(Or not even that, maybe I forced the theme too much, as usual)<\/p>\n <p><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-500489 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/playing.gif\" alt=\"playing\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: center\">Check those bird-impaling skillz<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-500488 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/impaling.gif\" alt=\"impaling\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-33\/?action=preview&amp;uid=15043\">Play Monstreeum<\/a><\/p>\n <p><strong>A little post-mortem<\/strong><\/p>\n <p>Since this is the first game I made since my daughter was born, she is 4 months old now,\u00a0I planned for a 15-20 hour\/work game instead of the usual 30-40 so I focused in the fun part (I love little lander games, always make prototypes but never full games) and\u00a0thought of a simple art style that I could do myself.<\/p>\n <p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">Keeping it short:<\/span><\/p>\n <p><strong>What went right:<\/strong><\/p>\n <p>-I wanted to try pixel art, it was hard to make it look good, but it was perfect\u00a0to do with only a mouse.<\/p>\n <p>-I also liked how the particles ended, they are\u00a0my second favorite part of this game.<\/p>\n <p>-Love this kind of game, so I really liked the gameplay<\/p>\n <p>-The multiple ways to kill birds, not as rewarding as I wanted it to be, but I liked the result.<\/p>\n <p><strong>What went wrong:<\/strong><\/p>\n <p>-The original idea required\u00a0the birds to nest the trees instead of destroying them\u00a0(it was a big part of the monstrosity of the tree). Completely forgot about that until the last moments (50 minutes before the deadline the trees weren&#8217;t even colliding with the birds). So, no time to\u00a0add new graphics, just added some ugly ass green particles and called it a day.<\/p>\n <p>-There are a number of bugs (birds that kill themselves count points,\u00a0forgot to actually destroy the monster-tree when it dies, and the pine-cones).<\/p>\n <p>-The trees are way to blended with the background..<\/p>\n <p>-Sound of some bird deaths\u00a0turned out weird.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>Thats it, if you&#8217;ve got a chance to play it, I hope you have fun!<\/p>\n <p><a href=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-33\/?action=preview&amp;uid=15043\">Play Monstreeum<\/a><\/p>","time":"September 8th, 2015 6:45 pm","title":"Is this\u2026 is this an Armored Tree?"}
