Hello community!
I decided to join the Ludum Dare with the intention of prototyping an old idea, originally concepted for Global Game Jam and its theme Home. Yes, I decided to ignore the LD theme, but only because that idea was waiting to be prototyped for a long time (Actually I was hoping that the theme Limited Memory got seleted, that would be perfect!).
So the day came and I realized that the idea was simple enought for me to learn Twine, because was all about triggers and conditions, so I jumped in by myself with the quest of writing and coding. I'm a game artist but in this project I decided that art was my last concern.
In the game you are drunk and that was a really good choice that could explain how hard was to interact with the NPCs and also play with the character's memory. A good reason to make the player control a drunken character was the ridiculous context that some players may indentify themselves (I actually hope you don't).
Another concern was to avoid giving away the gender of the player and the "pretty face" NPC. By leaving non this kind of information vague, the player could fit his or her own idea of what a pretty face would be and wonder what was the reason you had his or her number written on the paper (maybe it was a invitation for a RPG session, who knows?).
From now on I want to develop more the NPC interactions, add art and sound to improve the mood and make a full prototype for maybe a adventure game made in 3D. Who knows?
