Time Travelling Navy Seal Ninja Warrior - Dev log / update
For the past 3 months, I've been developing what will become my first commercially available video game. In the summer of 2018, a friend and I participated in Ludum Dare where we experimented with a VR project. The Man Of Mail was only playable on Oculus, and was terribly flawed and broken, but I fell in love with VR development because a simple game made in 16 hours turned in to one of my favorite games I had developed up until that point.
On March 20 2019 I began development on a light hearted VR game with climbing and shooting mechanics. The idea was to travel back in time and use parkour and guns to defeat enemies. Time Travelling Navy Seal Ninja Warrior was born. As I posted more and more update videos to youtube, reddit, and this site, I managed to gain a humble fan base who I communicated with on Discord. It was (and is) incredible to have people interested in and enjoying my work. But it's also terrifying. When I released the Pre-Alpha, I was terrified that people would be dissapointed. Many of them were. But the fact that they stuck around and gave feedback was amazing! within a month, so many changes were made that the alpha had very positive feedback.
Now that I'm on the beta build, people are loving the game. It's not flawless of course, but the people who've played praise the game. A few hardcore fans have played the game too many times to count, which is an incredible feeling. One person even made a fan trailer!
I've been working hard every day to make the best game that I can. I still have over a month left of development before release, but I'm very proud of what I've done so far. Here is the goofy trailer I made, along with a link to the steam page and a playlist of development progress.
