It's an important part of my work and I love that ! For this jam I tried for the first time 2D light and URP in Unity and it's just **AWESOME** ! \nBefore beginning, I am french so sorry for my english.\n\nMy work : https:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/46\/rodolf\n\n\n## Universal Render Pipeline\nFor enabled 2D Light you must use URP. I don't want to make a tutorial here. If you want more information, check this video which helped me a lot during the jam : https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nkgGyO9VG54 . \n\n## Post Process\n![PostProcess.png](\/\/\/raw\/dce\/d2\/z\/32b92.png)\nWith postprocess, you can polish easily your game. A little bit of chromatic aberration and bloom, vignetting and lens distortion add spices in your game ! But like spices don't abused them ! :hot_pepper: \n\n## Realtime Shadow\n![Shadow.png](\/\/\/raw\/dce\/d2\/z\/32b93.png)\nI'm impressed by the power of Shadow for 2D Light. It's insane, smooth and quite easy to use. I used it for the night part of my game for advise against rush cause you don't know what's behind the door. ;)\n\n## Normal map\n![Normal-Map.png](\/\/\/raw\/dce\/d2\/z\/32b9b.png)\nWith 2D Light and URP you can add a normal map to you sprite. It's impressive ! That add a 3D effect directly ! You can make a normal map with photoshop using your sprite as a base.\n\n## Lights !!!!\n![Lighting.png](\/\/\/raw\/dce\/d2\/z\/32b9c.png)\nFor me : the best part ! It's very easy to use and you can make what you want ! Lights improved the mood of you game and can be very usefull for your gameplay. For me, I used just one global light for the day. And at night, I light each piece individually so that the player can rediscover it. I tried to reproduce the moon light, TV light, damned baby bed light ect... With good lighting, everything becomes alive.\n\n## Thanks for reading !\n![ALL.png](\/\/\/raw\/dce\/d2\/z\/32b91.png)\n![all2baby.png](\/\/\/raw\/dce\/d2\/z\/32b9d.png)\n\nThanks for reading ! I hope this small blog made you want to test the power of lights on Unity. Come and test Rodolf and share your experience : https:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/46\/rodolf :)\n\nIf your game use lights share it ! \n\nIt's my first gamejam and I learned a lot. I discovered some impressive game and concept. Thank you all ! \n\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/Aikannaro","comments":2,"comments-timestamp":"2022-03-30T13:49:52Z","created":"2020-04-23T10:05:03Z","files":[],"files-timestamp":0,"id":207183,"love":6,"love-timestamp":"2020-04-23T12:53:17Z","meta":[],"modified":"2022-03-30T13:49:52Z","name":"2D Light in Unity","node-timestamp":"2020-04-23T11:07:54Z","parent":188111,"parents":[1,5,9,176557,188111],"path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/46\/rodolf\/2d-light-in-unity","published":"2020-04-23T11:01:48Z","scope":"public","slug":"2d-light-in-unity","subsubtype":"","subtype":"","type":"post","version":626753},"node_metadata":{"n_key":"207183","n_urlkey":"360792","n_parent":"188111","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/46\/rodolf\/2d-light-in-unity","n_slug":"2d-light-in-unity","n_type":"post","n_subtype":"","n_subsubtype":"","n_author":"188109","n_created":"1587636303","n_modified":"1648648192","n_version":"626753","n_status":"WAYBACK"},"source_url":"https:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/46\/rodolf\/2d-light-in-unity","text":"### Hi everybody ! \nI just want to speak about the 2D Light and PostProcess in Unity.
