I think I'm in
I love game jams, but it's been years since I've been able to finish one. I usually lose a lot of time just trying to plan and get organized enough to get started. Also I really struggle a lot with getting focused. Recently I've started taking an ADHD medication and I really feel it's helping me to struggle less with this sort of things, so I think I'll be able to finish.
I'm still worried about not finishing, so I'll probably do it as a Jam entry even though I'm doing it alone. I think I've got a good enough idea now, and I'll try to keep it as simple as possible. I really hope I can finish in time. I usually fail to keep with the deadlines of personal projects, so I would feel really really good just for being able to finish.
The basic idea is a top down game, where things move freely by themselves, with 2D physics, including the main character. Everything is tied to a time loop though, so things will repeat again after a few seconds. Your objective is to take the main character to the exit; the catch is that you cannot directly move the main character. Instead, you can change the time loop of any object in the game by selecting it, press the record button, then press it again to stop recording: now that object will repeat the new time you recorded. You use this mechanic to change the way things move and, eventually, take the main character to the exit.
I wish everyone luck and a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to play your games. :)
