The goal of the game is to rebuild line to include more lamps in it. You have to do it using limited rotations. When you create loop with power source and lamps you get additional rotations if this loop contains more lamps than previous loops. When you run out of the rotations available for you it is a game over.

Controls

  • Arrow keys/mouse movement – select tile to rotate
  • Space/Left mouse button – rotate tile

(Keyboard method is the preferred one, because there is no camera movement when using only mouse, so you would be limited only to current view of the field part)

This was our first participation in the Ludum Dare and it was not an easy ride. Partly because from our team only one person was able to participate in it, so it had been decided to participate in the Compo category. Partly because it was also the first time creating games using C# and Unity.

In the end 48 hours was definitely not enough to create a good game from the scratch without any experience in it.

The resulted game had reduced functionality. Some of it, as an increasing game field is not really important, because we had started with a big field (100x100) from the start. However some other lost functionality was more crucial, as a removing of the "switch" elements, which should have automatically connect wires connected to this element. switches.png Also the game had not QoL functionality, as an indications of connected elements, clear indications of game over or creation of the new loop, zooming in/out etc.

The game had quite a lot of bugs as well, which existed due to the lack of the testing and testing on only one device.

As for the bugs, the most of them had been fixed afterwards (thanks God it is allowed), but all the lost QoL and functionality will probably be implemented long after the end of LD47. So if you really want to see the game with all the planned changes you can star our repository on the GitHub, or subscribe to any of our social media accounts which you can find on our website (the one there the game itself is hosted).

You can play the game, rate it (we still don't have enough ratings) and leave any comments or suggestions on the game entry page, so here is the link again: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/lamps
