Let's do this!
For a long time, I've wanted to make a game, but never quite succeeded. I participated in Ludum Dare 41 and failed to make a game that people could even play, but I did learn a ton about OpenGL and 3D Graphics. Who knew that writing a 3D engine from scratch in 72 hours was too ambitious!
I'm back for Ludum Dare 48 and this time I've set a much more reasonable set of goals:
- Keep the game small and focused
- Use Ebiten for 2D rendering
- Use Pixie (my WIP pixel editor) for fonts and graphics
- Make a working engine within 24 hours
- Make a playable game within 48 hours, with 24 hours to expand content, not features
- Make sound effects from simple recordings
- Music is nice, but not required
I'll be streaming my progress next week and you can find me on Twitter and Github
