One Last "I'm In!" Post From Me (Probably)

The instant the results for LD47 were announced, I started preparing for LD48. After an incredibly long 6 months, here we are!

I plan on doing the Compo this time, since I did enter the jam in LD47 but my game only had 3 hours of work put into it. With 48 hours I'm sure I can make something that isn't complete garbage. I don't have any specific ideas for games yet, but I am interested in trying either a visual novel, since that genre is completely new to me as a developer, or an endless game, since most of the games I make have a start and an end. I don't really make many games where it lasts forever and you have to get a new high score while the games continuously gets harder, so that's exactly why I would like to try a game like that.

The tools I'll be using are:

  • Engine: Construct 3 (3D was finally added 8 days ago in a beta update so I'm currently playing around with that)
  • Art: Last month I made my own art app, Peace Of Cake Art Maker!, so I'll try that out and see how it does in a jam situation. It's been exactly a month since I updated it so I'll probably add some features to it in the next 2 days to get it closer to a professional paint.net level. If necessary I'll use Construct 3's built-in animator to touch up the images produced by my app.
  • Audio: 2 days probably isn't enough time to make the custom music app I've planned on making, so I'll just stick with GarageBand (and yes, I actually plan on investing more than 8 minutes into my audio this time)
  • Motivation: Cat hugs and the thought of getting to play hundreds of high-quality games. I also plan on actually eating during the jam, probably while I'm doing layout design. I've been eating plenty of food just in case I skip a meal. ๐Ÿ˜†

Also, a few days ago I announced I'm doing a complete remake of my so-so LD47 game from the ground up. I typed a lot of random details about it here. I don't have any early release photos of the way better gameplay and graphics yet, though!
