With that, I personally will be respecting the gray area and WONT be using them to generate art this time around. A good point that a user brought up that matches my opinion is that using a game engine or application like photoshop to create a compo game is like getting a leg up - the same way using an AI art generator helps with asset creation. Its a \"leg up,\" but the mechanics and orchestration of the game are still created from scratch by the developer. Personally, I think the use of these generators, since its free to all and cannot generate an entire game by itself, makes it fair to use. But again, I will respect the gray area. I would like my submission to be judged with the highest chance of success.","comments":21,"comments-timestamp":"2022-09-25T18:42:33Z","created":"2022-09-25T03:43:52Z","files":[],"files-timestamp":0,"id":299034,"love":6,"love-timestamp":"2022-09-25T17:34:30Z","meta":[],"modified":"2022-09-25T18:42:33Z","name":"Compo Question","node-timestamp":"2022-09-25T17:20:41Z","parent":297072,"parents":[1,5,9,296586,297072],"path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/51\/$297072\/compo-question","published":"2022-09-25T03:45:08Z","scope":"public","slug":"compo-question","subsubtype":"","subtype":"","type":"post","version":923398},"node_metadata":{"n_key":"299034","n_urlkey":"392807","n_parent":"297072","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/51\/$297072\/compo-question","n_slug":"compo-question","n_type":"post","n_subtype":"","n_subsubtype":"","n_author":"337","n_created":"1664077432","n_modified":"1664131353","n_version":"923398","n_status":"WAYBACK"},"source_url":"https:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/51\/$297072\/compo-question","text":"If I decide to use any AI art generating tools, does that count as a compo submission or a jam submission?\n\nEdit: It seems after posting this that its an overwhelmingly confusing area in regards to the use of AI generators in the compo.
