I spent today working through the GDQuest tutorial for tactics movement systems, as well as putting together my own placeholder art for the game just so I don't have to rush it later. My plan is to glue and duct tape together various tutorials that serve the functions I need, get the prototype to work, and then worry about polishing and fine-tuning afterward. I turned in for the night after getting to the point where I got the selection cursor programmed and working, but I am at the end of a work day, my Vyvanse has completely worn off, and I'm out of it, so I'm proud I got this much done at the least focused part of my day. Tomorrow morning though? I'm gonna crush it lol. \n\nAnyway, I leave you tonight with my mischievous-looking green stabby boy and my chaotic cave floor tiles![Capture.PNG](\/\/\/raw\/fca\/84\/z\/4f0cd.png) \n ","comments":0,"created":"2022-10-01T02:53:48Z","files":[],"files-timestamp":0,"id":303951,"love":4,"love-timestamp":"2022-10-01T04:02:21Z","meta":[],"modified":"2022-10-01T04:02:21Z","name":"LD51, Day 1: baby steps","node-timestamp":"2022-10-01T03:18:28Z","parent":297686,"parents":[1,5,9,296586,297686],"path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/51\/$297686\/ld51-day-1-baby-steps","published":"2022-10-01T03:18:28Z","scope":"public","slug":"ld51-day-1-baby-steps","subsubtype":"","subtype":"","type":"post","version":930690},"node_metadata":{"n_key":"303951","n_urlkey":"394009","n_parent":"297686","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/51\/$297686\/ld51-day-1-baby-steps","n_slug":"ld51-day-1-baby-steps","n_type":"post","n_subtype":"","n_subsubtype":"","n_author":"297679","n_created":"1664592828","n_modified":"1664596941","n_version":"930690","n_status":"WAYBACK"},"source_url":"https:\/\/ldjam.com\/events\/ludum-dare\/51\/$297686\/ld51-day-1-baby-steps","text":"I admit, when I first started the Jam I was incredibly overwhelmed with the task before me.
