Need any ideas? We got you!

Our team woke up a bit ago after a good brainstorming session yesterday!

In case you hate the theme or love it but have no idea what to create either way, here are some of our leftover ideas!

I'll split these up in three types: Movement/Combat, Pile Up, Other

Movement/Combat

These ideas are definitely a bit on the more difficult side to implement correctly, but still fun nonetheless!

Ultimate Shooter

Every 10 seconds, a new wave is spawned in, and you can run around and have to survive (killing/pacifist?)

This is your basic enemy shooter game where a new wave of enemies comes in every 10 seconds! You can mix this up by removing the player their gun, so it becomes more about running away from tons of enemies.

Quick-Time RTS

Every 10 seconds, the player has to decide where to move or attack. The player only has x amount of turns to finish the level.

With this, think of Crypt of the necrodancer, Xcom, Fire emblem, etc. The player will be given a goal, and has x amount of turns to complete it. Each turn the player has 10 seconds to decide what action to take (moving, attacking, using items, etc).

Rushed Parkour

Every 10 seconds, the player has to reach the next checkpoint or get teleported back to the previous checkpoint. This could be your basic platformer game (or put an extra spin on it, like Getting over it or Celeste) BUT you have to reach the next point within the 10 seconds which can make the game a lot more difficult and more about finding the best way forward. A lot of balancing involved!

Pile Up

These games are about giving the player more work every 10 seconds!

Minigame Hell

Every 10 seconds, a new puzzle is added to your desk, if you have x amount of unsolved puzzles you fail. The player is given a new tiny minigame every 10 seconds and can choose to work on the minigame or wait for the next one. If a minigame is unsolved for too long OR too many minigames are on the table you lose!

Let us in!

Every 10 seconds, a new person joins the group and you have to check their id/card to see if they are allowed in. If x people are waiting, or if you messed up x amount then you fail.

Kinda like Not Tonight and Papers Please!

Paperworks Please

Every 10 seconds, more paperwork is added to your desk. If you don't complete the paperwork on time OR when too much paper work is added, your desk overflows and you fail the game. (Or if you mess up paperwork)

Same kind of idea as the previous two, but a lot more simplified, fix up paperwork and send it in, don't keep the paperwork waiting or your desk might overflow!

Other

Some games that don't fit a certain type.

Push It

Every 10 seconds, the player has to push a button. A narrator will talk about how to player is pressing the button well, or how the player is messing up.

This is a very story-based game where the player has to press a simple button every 10 seconds, a narrator will talk about the player's decisions and maybe throw some plot twists throughout the game.

Timely Tasks

Every 10 seconds, a minigame is shown that has to be completed in the allocated time.

Very similar to Minigame Hell, but this time the player has 10 seconds to complete one minigame, if they fail they lose, what highscore can you get?

That's it for now, I'll talk later about what idea we went with. Good luck everyone!
