Little Poem.
The sun looms in the horizon.
Filling the sky with hues of orange and yellow.
Its tentative rays shuffling my neatly organized leaves.
A schedule shaker. A routine breaker.
\
I get no time to prepare before I'm seized by the warmth.
Mesmerized, yet nervous of the consequences.
\
I look around me.
Sorrowful of the ones missing.
Yet new saplings sprout all the time.
And those who remain are just as amused as I am.
\
The clock ticks faster and faster.
Or is it my perception distorted by the now glaring sun?
I arm myself with coffee, stubbornness, and stolen sleep.
And I praise the sun!
