The game is finished! Our first Ludum Dare postmortem.

Well, no game is ever truly finished, but I think our game is good enough at this point :)

We're a team of two. I was responsible for programming, and my wife took care of the art. We're closer to 40 than to 30, so we didn’t struggle too hard.

I checked the theme on Saturday around 10–11 AM. We talked a little bit about ideas, then decided to cook dinner (I made a pretty decent spaghetti Bolognese) and had more discussions along the way. We started working at around 4 PM and kept going until about midnight.

The next day (Sunday), we worked on the game some more, but also took a long walk with our dog and went to sleep around 11 PM.

Today, we did some polishing, playtesting, tweaking, and bug fixing.

I think we did a pretty good job. We work in the game industry (actually, we run our own small studio), so we basically did what we do almost every day, just without all the real-world stress.

The game does what we aimed for in general, although the tower defense aspect is pretty weak, as we couldn’t quite figure out how to integrate it properly with our Lovecraftian theme.

Please take a look and leave some feedback!
