I decided to see if I could use it for digital art drawn in Krita rather than pixel art, so I added functionality to directly import Krita files.\n\nIt turns out this is very very annoying. I owe everything to a handful of forum posts I found online, as well as a substantial amount of trial and error. If anyone ever has questions about writing code to automatically export Krita images, well, I guess I know how to do that now.\n\nOf course, had I quit one hour in when the export was mostly working, I probably would have saved myself time as the additional niceties that I implemented will probably not save me three hours of time over the rest of the compo. But... you know how it is.\n\nAlso, I suppose I might consider doing Ludum Dare Extra anyways, just because that would be an excuse to actually work on a game + game engine together for a longer period of time, which would be more productive than just one weekend.
