What is your philosophy on game difficulty/length for the jam?

It's always tough to balance gameplay and game length for the jam, I'm always torn between trying to make challenging gameplay that'll feel satisfying when you master it versus making sure it doesn't feel too frustrating or too long for someone who's probably playing a bunch of jam games back to back. Its especially hard when you're playing the game over and over and cant even tell what's hard or frustrating by the end.

We try to aim for a 10 minute long game that isn't too difficult to get all the way through, but this jam was a bit of a hard one! We made so many fun props that I couldn't help myself each night after bug fixing and just kept making "one last level"

What's everyone's thoughts on jam balancing? Do you try to keep it fun for everyone or do you just try to make cool levels and hope it wont be too hard by the end?

Oh and if you're up for the challenge, the final level in our game, titled "finallevel2" in the code, is one of my favorites. It looks pretty cool, so let me know what you think if you get there
