I took a quick break to check out LD54 and flipped through the scoring from the last session (considering only the overall category):

1st - 4.706

10th - 4.438

50th - 4.227

100th - 4.114

200th - 3.955

300th - 3.839

400th - 3.741

500th - 3.639

(I don't know if there's ever been a similar or more comprehensive count before. Please let me know if you do.)

This suddenly made me wonder about everyone's average scoring and high score standards for each metric: What is the average score you give for a specific metric? And under what circumstances would you give a high score of 4.5/5 or 5/5?

For me, it's roughly this:

Fun: How immersed I was, if I played for over 1 hour without realizing it, that's a solid 5/5.

Innovation/Theme: These two seem quite similar to me; if it fits the theme (like summoning monsters to fight), that's at least 3.5 or 4. If it makes me exclaim "WHAT?? Even THIS??" that's a definitely 5/5.
