Fifty-Six Lilypads: A Ludum Dare 56 Entry – Thank You All!
Hey fellow Ludum Dare participants! I'm so grateful that Fifty-Six Lilypads, my entry for Ludum Dare 56, has already gathered 73 reviews—one more than my all-time record! 🎉 Thanks to everyone who took the time to play and review my game. I genuinely appreciate your feedback, and I hope you're enjoying the experience.
While I'd love to aim for 100 reviews, I’m realistic about my time constraints, I am already in debt to the community as I only reviewed 53 games, so I would need to review a lot more, and as I strive to provide meaningful reviews, it takes times to properly play and write thoughtful feedback. I’ve been trying to review games from people who commented on my entry, and I have a bit of backlog yet of game I can play (html5). It’s always a blast to discover such a wide variety of games—from polished veteran projects to amazing first-time entries. Engaging with everyone in the comments has been one of the best parts of this Ludum Dare. Also now is the time to rate the game in the danger zone. So go focus on that!
Support on GitHub
One goal I should have focused more on is publicizing the GitHub repository for my game. I've worked hard to make the repository clean and well-documented, with organized commits, a detailed README (and even created a special LD56 badgethat you can use if you have a repository! 🏅see below), tags and descriptions, and social images. I'd like to write a somewhat comprehensive guide "github for ludum dare" with other interested people. Feel free to stop by my repo to check it out and provide feedback, and if you like it, maybe give it a star ⭐ (ok that's my secret goal, I'd really love to have one of my repositories with stars :) ).

What's Next?
Once Ludum Dare is over, I plan to update the AI in the game. The current implementation was a quick solution during development, but I’m excited to implement the true AI I envisioned. If that sounds interesting, consider starring the repo to be notified of future updates!
This Ludum Dare has been a wonderful experience for me. I’m proud of how Fifty-Six Lilypads turned out, even though I originally hoped it would feel more distinct from its board game inspiration. In the coming days, I’ll try to rate a few more games in the danger zone, and I encourage everyone to do the same. Let’s get as many ratings as we can! 🐸💚
