Join the GitHub Code Exploration for Ludum Dare 56 Entries!

Hey Ludum Dare 56 devs! If you used Git and GitHub to develop your game jam or compo entry, let’s do something cool together to promote our work and learn from each other's development processes.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Update the title of your repositories (links to previous name still works)
  2. Set a social preview (cover image) to give your repository a visual touch—think of it as a mini poster for your game.
  3. Add tags to your repository (e.g., game, game-development, ludum-dare, ludumdare, ludumdare56, ludum-dare-56) to make your project easily discoverable.
  4. Pimp your readme and Add badges to highlight your participation in the ld: Screen Shot 2024-10-21 at 17.15.42.png md ![Ludum Dare](https://img.shields.io/badge/LudumDare-56-f79122?labelColor=ee5533&link=https%3A%2F%2Fldjam.com%2Fevents%2Fludum-dare%2F56) ![Ludum Dare](https://img.shields.io/badge/LudumDare56-Compo-f79122?labelColor=ee5533&link=https%3A%2F%2Fldjam.com%2Fevents%2Fludum-dare%2F56) I am quite proud of my repo, come check it out : https://github.com/dhmmasson/lilyFrogs
  5. Star repositories from other Ludum Dare 56 participants to support and acknowledge each other’s work.

I've put together two lists from the games I have reviewed during the LD:

  • Compo Entries: Projects created by solo developers—typically leaner repositories with clear code from single creators. Explore here
  • Jam Entries: Games made by teams, so you’ll often see more commits, collaborative workflows, and perhaps some complex Git histories. Check them out here. One even as has a record breaking of 580+ commits!!

Browse, share, and leave a star on repositories you find interesting! Let’s celebrate our code and creativity together.

Have you used Git during the development or just Git Hub for the final code deposit? Drop a comment if you're in and have a GitHub repo to share! (If you have used gitlab/bitbucket, you might start another list maybe on those ?)
