Moving to Extras, if at all
You know your jam isn't going well when you don't start coding until the final day, and keep sleeping for more than 8 hours every night...
Idk. Proud of my brainstorming and idea, struggled a bit with the art but managed to make it and be proud of it, but cannot seem to move faster than a glacier to actually put everything together in Godot. Could it have all been done in a day? Probably, the scope wasn't very big. Was I able to? Not even close. To even get started today I had to upload my design document to ChatGPT and ask it to hold my hand like it was a teacher and I was the slow kid in game dev class lol. (Not help with the code tho, just 'step one: make a scene called this, add these nodes' type stuff bc i just can't handle figuring out what to do anymore, basically just using ChatGPT as an external version of myself telling me how to implement my design document lol).
Thinking about switching (hopefully not forever) to a no-code or low-code engine in the future since Godot has, for whatever reason, become inaccessible to me mentally for the past few years despite being my preference. Found GDevelop on a quick google search earlier, anyone have any experience or thoughts on it? I watched part of a tutorial and I don't know that I like how monetized it is nor the 'start a project with AI assets' thing, but I dunno, it might be easier on me than Godot or GameMaker right now.
Anyway, I hit my mental limit a few hours ago and haven't been able to make progress since, so good luck in the final few hours jammers. Here's hoping LD58 won't be canceled so that I have another chance in October.
