Lets do this!

Hey everyone! Been a long long time since I’ve done a jam as the Global Game Jam site I usually go to didn’t participate this year. Sad day, indeed. It was my first game jam, so it holds a special place in my heart. The theme was an ouroboros (image), so our game had three players struggle for control over one ouroboros in a side-scrolling platformer. Each player could move left or right, and the more players holding the same direction, the faster you’d go. I did some level design for it, which didn’t seem like much, but it was still an incredibly exciting experience. And hey, the jam organizer told us that our game would be a great drinking game, so that’s worth something, I guess.

I later participated in the 2013 Molyjam where everyone chose a Peter Molyneux quote as their theme. “And I thought, if this crashes the plane, me turning on my phone, then so be it.” was the quote I ended up with, and it resulted in Business Call, which I was very proud of. I made some tweaks, fixed some bugs, made some additions, and released it on Google Play as an Android game last year as my first ever commercial product.

I’ve been in kind of a creative rut since then. Having trouble coming up with new ideas and whatnot. I’m hoping that this year’s Ludum Dare can fix that, as I really really want to make some games!

Last but not least, here’s some links to the games I’ve mentioned in this post. Check them out if you’d like!

Feel free to share your comments on these games and let me know what you all think! I always like hearing feedback on my work, and I look very forward to making a videogame in a few weeks for Ludum Dare! It’ll be my first time participating in this particular jam, so I’m very excited to see what everyone and myself can come up with! Happy jamming, all!
