Unclear about opting out ?

yo peeples! I see when using for instance the massive attack assets, you are requested to ‘opt out’ for the audio cathegory..

this is a bit unclear to me..say this week i’m working on my own music which i build myself and might want to use in my upcoming game,

should i opt out for audio if i decide to use it ? what about additional sound effects or an extra intro track i will make during the compo,

what if i select a couple of sample’s i will be using ? I don’t really see the difference in hooking up a couple of synths prior to the

compo or making a set of sampleinstruments to use..as well as using code-libraries…like unity assets

Hope someone can explain, i thought this was the difference between compo and jam ?

much appreciated,

Rob

as well as graphics, which is quite a bit category, for if you used an image of the northpole as a background for your snowman game..

Just try to make everything within the jam time. A lot of people probably cheat, but the spirit of the event is in creating a full game top to bottom within 48 or 72 hours. However, the most important part of the contest is the code. In my opinion, it is not fair to use other people’s code from the unity asset store. You are supposed to be doing this yourself or with your team. Sound effect do not really make or break a game, but the code does.
