Redemption
So after three consecutive successful Ludum Dares, each producing a game better than the last, I finally broke down and couldn’t put together a game in time for LD 29. Time to make up for that by (hopefully) knocking it out of the park in my fifth attempt! Just to be safe I took Monday off of work, so if things have to spill over into the jam instead of the competition, so be it!
I honestly learned quite a bit from my last failure:
Get things moving around the screen and interactive as soon as possible! Don’t write design documents, start on graphics or other nonsense!
Try to pick a decent idea early on instead of spending time trying to come up with the perfect idea only to abandon it for a new one later
Game development is not my job, but it is a hobby, and it’s best not to completely ignore it until a jam you want to enter rolls around
