Hey all, this is my first Ludum Dare and I am very much looking forwards to developing alongside so many talented creative minds in this Jam.<\/p>\n
If you hadn’t gathered from the above, that means I am in! But wait, there is more! I have been voting as have many this week and blogging about my thoughts towards the themes in a small series of Voting posts created on my personal blog including a final summary post about the tough decisions I made in the final round. Hopefully the themes I chose will shine brightly but I’m sure I couldn’t choose one single theme to come out on top if tasked to do so alone, so thanks to everyone who has voted and may the best theme win!<\/p>\n
Onto my workspace, I’ll be using the Phaser Framework<\/a> alongside a custom Jam framework I’ll be scratching together the night before and making publicly available via my Github<\/a>\u00a0if anyone else wishes to use it. This will mainly be tidier looking functions and utility code to make the whole experience go down smoother so I can focus on the gameplay and mechanics. My Code Editor of choice is probably going to be either the Chrome Dev Editor<\/a> or Sublime Text 3<\/a> depending on which works best for me at the time, though I can always fall back into Webstorm<\/a>\u00a0but for something small like a jam game it seems like overkill. I’ll be creating all of my pixels using Photoshop<\/a>, music will probably be created using one of the many smaller tools such as Musagi<\/a>\u00a0but if I feel the need I’ll rock FL Studio<\/a>, say if I need a more real sounding track in the background. Sound effects will all either be recorded by me or generated using Bfxr<\/a>. I’ll be listening to Trance.fm<\/a>\u00a0for most of the jam, either the Trance or Progressive stream. Mainly so I don’t fall asleep in silence and also don’t have to fiddle around with playlists and such.\u00a0I think I have just about covered\u00a0everything…<\/p>\n Oh almost forgot! Plenty<\/strong> of Coffee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
