I need some clarifications on the rules please

So I am PRETTY sure I can, but am I allowed to use GarageBand to make music for my game (48 hour comp, not the jam), and can I use these things:

Engine: Unity3D

Modeling: Blender

Texturing: PhotoShop/Gimp

Also can I use my Wacom Bamboo Tablet? I think I can I am just making sure. And also for Unity3d when they say “Include the Source Code” should I just include the whole project’s contents or what?

Yes, you can. As long as you’re not stealing melodies / lyrics from other songs, you are good to go!

It may not be important in a “will go to jail” sense, but it is not fair play and totally misses the point of the compo. If you want to reuse assets besides the parts that are explicitly allowed (e.g. fonts, instrument samples), please, please, please do the jam, not the compo.

The primary purpose of the rules for Ludum Dare are to get you to make a game that is entirely your own. This is beneficial as it means you should always have the option of expanding any LD entry of yours into a fuller experience and selling it for money without having to worry about legal disputes later on.

There’s really no money changing hands over the course of the Ludum Dare (unless you count Ludum Deals or donations to the folks who run the site), so nobody ever really has solid reason to get up in arms over minor violations of rules or policies.
