We neglected to post any intermediary updates because we didn’t have much to show yet…and frankly, we still don’t have half as much to show as we wanted to.

This was my first time developing a game in Unity, and I learned a lot about it — especially how to handle its physics engine. It’s a simple one-level game, but I’m fairly pleased with it nonetheless. Could’ve added more levels, better 3D models, proper mouse support…but hey, there’s always next time. The end result is a fairly straightforward projectile-launching game, even if “projectile launching” in this case means “dwarf tossing”.

Can’t take credit for the idea, nor the music or the dwarf model used — those were the work of my colleague, who has decided to remain anonymous. There was a story to the game, but since globs of text apparently looked fairly ugly in-game, we’ve just decided to post it here with the submission.

Good luck with the voting, everyone!

April 28th, 2014 5:57 pm
Well, I guess time’s up"}
