{"author_name":"Kharza","cat":"LD #29","comments":[],"epoch":1398460920,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"32695","p_author":"Kharza","p_authorkey":"5649","p_urlkey":"68208","p_title":"I have a towel on my head","p_cat":"LD #29","p_event":"LD29","p_time":"1398460920","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"5649","us_name":"Kharza","us_username":"kharza","event_start":"1398384000","event_key":"22","event_name":"LD29"},"text":"<p>I&#8217;m sort of in but I&#8217;m so not ready!<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;ve been porting my usual xna set of libs and tools to directx 11 (to get ready for 12, which is going to be awesome) and everything is in a gigantic mess. \u00a0I doubt anyone would try to use this anyway but if you do, you might want to use last ludum dare&#8217;s libs.<\/p>\n <p>Here&#8217;s the zip including the xna stuff as well as the new directx 11 stuff. \u00a0Note that a friend at microsoft hooked me up with visual studio ultimate so the projects might not work in express. \u00a0That was something I was going to fix but I&#8217;ve ended up having to work this week so didn&#8217;t have time to fix that.<\/p>\n <p><a title=\"GrogLibs\" href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/59900676\/GrogLibs29.zip\">https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/59900676\/GrogLibs29.zip<\/a><\/p>\n <p>So last time I didn&#8217;t finish. \u00a0I got sick on Saturday and ended up just sleeping most of the weekend. \u00a0I had a strange little room with some stick figures fighting and that was about it. \u00a0This time I&#8217;ve been sick mid week so I&#8217;m hoping I&#8217;m over it.<\/p>\n <p>Another thing I might have to deal with is stormy weather. \u00a0I live in a teeny cute little town with a terribad power grid and even worse internet. \u00a0A stiff breeze can knock either out and we might get tornados, we shall see!<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;m using my usual set of tools, but I&#8217;ve added an awesome new tool a friend recommended. \u00a0Here&#8217;s a picture of it in action:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/2014\/04\/25\/i-have-a-towel-on-my-head\/renderdoccery\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-341530\"><img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-341530\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/renderDoccery-550x343.png\" alt=\"renderDoccery\" width=\"550\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/renderDoccery-300x187.png 300w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/renderDoccery-550x343.png 550w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n <p>This is the most badass tool for the age old &#8220;I&#8217;m drawing stuff but I can&#8217;t see anything&#8221; problem. \u00a0It is like pix on steroids, and it is called RenderDoc, and it is made by the Crytek folks. \u00a0Can&#8217;t recommend it highly enough if you do lots of gpu stuff.<\/p>\n <p>So yea in addition to that I usually use an old Max for characters and statics, visual studio for code, quake army knife for levels, paint.net for 2d stuff, bryce for skyboxes if I have time, sfxr and audacity and my peavey patriot guitar for music\/sound, and Tetley for brainfuel.<\/p>\n <p>Oh and here&#8217;s a link to my past stuff. \u00a0I think this will be my 8th or 9th time doing this.<\/p>\n <p><a title=\"My Crap\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/author\/kharza\/\">Past Stuffs<\/a><\/p>","time":"April 25th, 2014 4:22 pm","title":"I have a towel on my head"}
