I’m in.
My story of participation in ludum dare is a sad, long depressing story of a quitter. I first heard about Ludum Dare from watching Notches videos of him competing. I believe that was 2010?
I didn’t work up the courage to compete however until 2011, where I started on my first competition. Literally less than two hours in, I quit. I just couldn’t handle the theme and the idea of the workload.
I didn’t compete again for an entire year. This time though, I completed the game, eh, more or less. It wasn’t really a finished product, and certainly not the one I love to show people as my only publicly available finished game, but I still finished it!(and even made a time lapse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz909sax4O0)
I again, didn’t compete once more for an entire year. That was the same old song and dance from my first competition. Starts on it, comes up with an idea, two hours later, boom I’m out.
This year, I really, really hope to change that. I’m going to do everything I can to push myself to stay in the competition, no matter the self struggles.
Guys.
I’m in.
