Last time I gave up due to lack of sleep and motivation. The time before I didn&#8217;t finish my game either (although I have to admit that was when I was writing my bachelor thesis, so that should be excusable).<\/p>\n <p>This time I am quite motivated again. I have some Java game in mind, some 2D Jump &amp; Run or similar. But who knows, depends on the theme, of course. If I have learned anything from the last competitions, it&#8217;s this: Too much story is deadly. I took a lot of time imagining a great story around the theme and finally lacked the time to implement what turned out to be way too complex.<\/p>\n <p>This time I will begin with some first art, drawing some characters, creating some music etc. I hope that some kind of vision or idea will emerge while creating these first assets. Also I won&#8217;t be thinking of much of a story, instead I will start with the game mechanics (I think it&#8217;s easier to apply a story to an existing game mechanic than the other way round).<\/p>\n <p>All in all you could say I&#8217;m motivated, definitely more than last time.
