Finished my second LD, here’s what I think of my experience.<\/p>\n
The Good:<\/strong><\/p>\n -Despite not working most of Saturday, I still got it done for the most part. \u00a0 -Finally resolved the issues I have always had when distributing \u00a0 -Completed it \u00a0 -I really improved in the sound category, I made a quick background song using just my guitar, a crappy mic, and Audacity. \u00a0 -I couldn’t find any bugs, so thats good \u00a0 -Thought my game was somewhat humorous \u00a0 -Took a two month break from programming, managed to know what I was doing when I came back for this dare<\/p>\n The Bad:<\/strong><\/p>\n -I really didn’t have very much gameplay… \u00a0 -Didn’t work enough, could have included a lot more \u00a0 -Should have focused less on telling a story, more on making a simple game that’s fun. \u00a0 \u00a0-Overall, I think I could have done something much better<\/p>\n For the Future:<\/strong><\/p>\n In the future, I hope that maybe I will finally make the switch to Unity or something, because what I know now isn’t the greatest for building games. I should start working less on cool engines (such as my voxel and terrain engines), and focus more on fun gameplay and finishing games. I think I have a lot of ability, but I’m using it in the wrong spot. Maybe the next dare I’ll be prepared for a different approach to the competition.<\/p>\n Good luck to everyone’s entry!<\/p>\n
